The primary function involves performing work using heart catheterization tools, which are inserted into the arteries to assess cardiac health and deliver specific treatments. These nurses assist physicians with complex procedures, including the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, as well as angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and stent placements.
