The Trauma Support department is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of clinical care for trauma patients. As a Level I Trauma center, our mission is anchored in the rigorous standards set by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The team operates as a collaborative unit, bringing together medical and administrative directors, physicians, nurses, and quality specialists to champion a service of excellence. This environment fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring that every patient receives coordinated care across the entire continuum, from admission through discharge planning.
This position serves as a vital liaison and consultant within the Trauma Program, focusing exclusively on the clinical aspects of performance improvement and quality assurance. You will work in close partnership with the Trauma Medical Director and Program Director to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate trauma program activities. Your primary objective is to ensure quality patient care through robust performance improvement (PI) initiatives, practice standards, and education.
In this role, you will act as the bridge between clinical care and regulatory compliance. You will oversee the Trauma Program Performance Improvement activities, including the management of the Trauma Registry and the tracking of key quality indicators. A significant portion of your day involves analyzing clinical data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing action plans to enhance patient outcomes. You will function as a consultant to colleagues and healthcare providers, offering expertise on quality of care and trauma performance standards.
Your day-to-day activities include facilitating multidisciplinary committees such as the Trauma Case Review, Mortality & Morbidity conferences, and the Trauma Quality Improvement Program. You will engage in clinical rounding to clarify documentation, ensure accurate coding of severity of illness, and communicate effectively with physicians and care teams to resolve documentation gaps. This role is non-clinical in terms of direct patient care assignments but is deeply embedded in the clinical workflow, requiring a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data-driven quality improvement.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a standard interview process to assess clinical knowledge, experience with trauma registries, and alignment with our collaborative culture. Successful candidates will be offered a position that includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, subject to eligibility and business needs.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our organization. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, gender, or other protected characteristics. Our commitment to excellence extends to our workplace culture, where we strive to provide a supportive environment for all team members.
