About the Role
The Transportation Support Coordinator is a remote position designed for individuals who want to learn the logistics industry from the ground up. This role serves as a foundational step for those looking to eventually transition into becoming an Independent Freight Dispatcher. By working from home, you will assist drivers, dispatchers, brokers, and operations teams to keep freight moving without delays.
Day in the Life
As a Transportation Support Coordinator, your primary focus is ensuring smooth operations by organizing schedules, communicating updates, and verifying documents. You will act as a key support link between drivers and the broader operations team. Your day involves providing drivers with updated instructions, addresses, and appointment times, tracking ETAs and potential delays, and helping resolve road issues quickly and professionally.
You will also coordinate loads by confirming pickup and delivery appointments, tracking freight, and providing real-time updates to brokers and shippers. A significant part of the role involves verifying documentation such as Bills of Lading (BOLs) and Proof of Delivery (PODs) to ensure accuracy. Additionally, you will manage time by estimating realistic load/unload times to prevent overscheduling.
Communication is central to this role. You will maintain positive relationships with shippers and brokers by sending check calls, status updates, and notifying them of any changes or delays. All paperwork and load notes will be uploaded into the Transportation Management System (TMS) to maintain clean and accurate records.
