About the Team
Unity House is a Rensselaer County-based human service agency dedicated to meeting the otherwise unmet needs of individuals and families in our community who are hurting and struggling. We serve those living in poverty, adults with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays. Our mission is to achieve social justice and foster a deeper understanding of the people we serve.
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to individuals and families facing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. This role is pivotal in crisis stabilization, treatment planning, and delivering recovery-oriented, strengths-based care.
You will work across both Crisis Residence and MHOTRS clinic settings, utilizing evidence-based practices to deliver culturally responsive care. The position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support client wellness, providing clinical supervision to direct care staff, and conducting comprehensive assessments. Your day-to-day will include delivering psychotherapy using modalities such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR, facilitating group sessions, and educating clients and families on coping skills and community resources.
