About the Role
Shape the documentation foundation of a mission-critical Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) cloud platform as a Technical Writer. You'll produce, edit, and maintain the comprehensive suite of technical and operational documents supporting VA staff and millions of Veterans.
The Technical Writer is responsible for the production, editing, formatting, and maintenance of all technical documentation and formal deliverables where you'll work across multiple program areas to synthesize complex technical content into clear, accurate, and professionally formatted documents suitable for both technical audiences and VA executive leadership.

- check_circleDraft, edit, and format the Contractor Project Management Plan (CPMP)
- check_circleProduce and format Weekly Progress Reports in Microsoft Word and Project
- check_circleEnsure data elements are accurately documented including work completed, issues, resolutions, and ICT Section 508 conformance status
- check_circleSupport development and formatting of the Capabilities and Services Document
- check_circleEnsure accuracy and alignment of the Capabilities and Services Document with current platform capabilities
- check_circleSupport development and formatting of the Platform Dependency List
- check_circleProduce and format the monthly deliverables report documenting status of
- check_circleClearly identify late, inaccurate, or unapproved
- check_circleSupport drafting and editing of the Architecture Package
- check_circleEnsure professional appearance and suitability for government
- check_circleSupport drafting and editing of the Architecture, Engineering, and Maintenance
- check_circleDraft and format the Maintenance Plan in both narrative and graphical formats
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's Degree in technical writing, English, communications, IT, technical writing, English, communications, or related field
- verified5 years experience in technical writing for cloud platforms, DevSecOps, cloud platforms, DevSecOps, enterprise IT
- verifiedActive Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance
- verifiedU.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Permanent Resident with 3+ years US residency)
- verifiedExperience producing federal government technical documentation
- verifiedExperience with Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, Jira, Confluence
- verifiedKnowledge of SAFe Agile methodology
- verifiedWorking knowledge of AWS architecture and VA enterprise policies
- verifiedExperience supporting a federal agency
