Hampton Lumber is a thriving, family-owned company with over 80 years of experience in the sawmill business. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, we operate nine sawmills across Western Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, while also managing timberland and a wholesale/import-export division. Our mission is to grow, manufacture, and market renewable wood products to deliver innovative solutions for a more sustainable built environment.
Guided by the tagline "Find a better way every day," we are committed to innovation and improvement across all operations. Our core values—Safety, Integrity & Authenticity, Responsible Stewardship, Tenacity, Continuous Improvement, Customer Satisfaction, and Community Engagement—drive our culture. We invest in our people, new technologies, and continuous improvement processes to ensure we prosper even in challenging times.
We are seeking a Planer Supervisor for the Swing Shift to join our Warrenton Planer Team. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for someone who is safety-oriented, people-focused, and goal-driven. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the swing shift team, working closely with the broader leadership team to promote our goal of being the Employer of Choice in our community.
In this position, you will foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will be expected to set the example for safe work behaviors, maintain high standards for product quality, and supervise the production of logs into rough lumber. Beyond operational oversight, you will play a key role in training, motivating, and retaining your team, ensuring that every member contributes to the company's vision of excellence.
Hampton took over management of the Warrenton plant in 2010, though a sawmill has operated on this site since 1921. Today, we employ 140 people, ranging from long-tenured veterans with over 30 years of service to new career starters. This creates an incredible team of skilled problem-solvers who work together to continuously improve in all areas.
Warrenton employees live out our deep commitment to people, community, and sustainability by supporting local organizations such as 4H, Girls Build, the Robotics Club, and the Clatsop Works Internship program. Joining this team means becoming part of a supportive community that values innovation and shared success.
