Metromont LLC has been a leader in the construction industry for nearly a century. Founded in 1925 on the principles of faith, honor, and passion, the company remains a third-generation family business with nearly 1,500 associates across six manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia.
As a pioneer in the engineering and manufacturing of precast concrete, Metromont serves as a trusted partner from the earliest stages of project design through the turnover of completed structures. Beyond production, the company provides complementary design, engineering, hauling, erection, and field services. From the eastern seaboard to Arizona, customers rely on Metromont for innovative precast solutions for parking structures, data centers, multifamily housing, office buildings, warehouses, schools, and stadiums.
The Structural Engineer is responsible for the cost-efficient design of precast concrete systems, connections, and components. This role serves as a critical link between design and production, ensuring that engineering standards are met while facilitating the successful completion of projects.
In this position, you will independently manage engineering design aspects with minimal guidance, performing calculations and details for all products. You will review contract documents, attend project meetings, and resolve engineering design issues both independently and by assisting others. A key part of the role involves checking the accuracy and efficiency of designs created by others, including external consultants and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to Metromont standards and the Engineering Design Process.
To maintain a deep understanding of the work, you will be actively aware of production processes through regular plant visits. The role requires evaluating design costs against estimates and completing repairs as needed. You will also be expected to become licensed in states where engineering work is performed, reviewing and stamping erection drawings, calculations, and repair details when assigned.
Metromont is more than just a construction company; it is a family that loves to take on exciting challenges. Our core values of faith, honor, and passion guide everything we do. We highly value relationships and interaction with people, seeking individuals who are highly dependable, eager to learn, and possess a positive outlook.
We foster an environment where employees are encouraged to teach and develop others. We value consistency in processes while remaining adaptable to change, and we place a strong emphasis on safety. All associates are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with Metromont's core values and actively participate in company safety, training, and observation programs.
