Store Clerk/Cashier

About the Role

Goodwill is seeking Store Clerks and Cashiers to play a vital role in our retail operations and customer service. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of our stores, ensuring a welcoming environment for donors and shoppers, and processing sales transactions efficiently. Store Clerks are responsible for a variety of tasks that keep the store organized and ready for customers, including operating cash registers, handling payments, and assisting shoppers with their purchases.

Day in the Life

As a Store Clerk, you will be the face of Goodwill, greeting customers and providing helpful assistance with questions and purchases. Your day will involve a mix of front-of-house and back-of-house duties. You will process transactions accurately, bag items for customers, and ensure the sales floor is clean and organized. This includes stocking shelves, organizing racks and displays, and tagging and pricing donated items to prepare them for sale.

A significant part of the role involves supporting our mission by accepting and sorting donations. You will help prepare merchandise for the sales floor, ensuring that donated items are properly processed and presented. Maintaining a clean and organized store environment is a key responsibility, as is following store procedures for handling donations and operating the register.
