Store Clerk/Cashier

About the Role

Goodwill is seeking dedicated Store Clerks and Cashiers to play a vital role in our retail operations and community mission. This position is central to maintaining an efficient, welcoming, and organized store environment where customers can find quality merchandise and where donated items are processed with care.

As a Store Clerk, you will be the face of Goodwill, providing exceptional customer service while managing the day-to-day flow of the sales floor. Your work directly supports the organization's goal of helping people overcome barriers to employment and independence by ensuring our stores operate smoothly and effectively.

Day in the Life

Your day will involve a dynamic mix of customer interaction and operational tasks. You will greet customers warmly, assist them with their purchases, and answer questions about products or donations. A significant part of your role involves processing sales transactions accurately using the cash register, handling both for cash and card payments, and ensuring proper bagging of items.

Beyond the register, you will contribute to the visual appeal and organization of the store. This includes stocking shelves, organizing racks and displays, and displays, and tagging and pricing donated items. You will also assist in accepting and sorting donations, helping prepare merchandise for the sales floor. Maintaining a clean and organized store environment is a key responsibility, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all visitors.

Depending on your location and experience, this position offers competitive pay ranging from $13 to $17 per hour, with potential for overtime pay, weekend shifts, holiday pay, and performance-based raises.
