Store Clerk/Cashier

About the Role

Goodwill is seeking Store Clerks and Cashiers to play a vital role in our retail operations and customer service efforts. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of our stores, ensuring a welcoming environment for donors and shoppers, and processing sales transactions efficiently.

Day in the Life

As a Store Clerk, you will be the face of Goodwill, greeting customers and assisting them with their purchases. Your day will involve a mix of front-of-house and back-of-house tasks, including operating the cash register, handling cash and card payments, and bagging items. You will also be responsible for keeping the store clean and organized by stocking shelves, organizing racks and displays, and tagging and pricing donated items.

A significant part of the role involves supporting our mission by accepting donations, sorting donated items, and preparing merchandise for the sales floor. You will answer customer questions and help maintain a tidy and inviting shopping environment. Employees must follow established store procedures for handling donations, pricing merchandise, and operating the register.
