Store Clerk/Cashier

About the Role

Goodwill is seeking Store Clerks and Cashiers to play a vital role in our retail operations. This position is central to delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth processing of sales transactions. As a Store Clerk, you will be the face of Goodwill, greeting customers, assisting them with their purchases, and answering questions to create a positive shopping experience.

Day in the Life

Your day will involve a mix of customer interaction and store maintenance. You will operate the cash register, handling both cash and card payments with accuracy. Beyond the register, you will assist customers with bagging items and answering questions about products. A significant part of the role involves maintaining the store's appearance and organization. This includes stocking shelves, organizing racks and displays, and ensuring the sales floor remains clean and inviting.

You will also be involved in the donation process, which is core to Goodwill’s mission. This includes accepting donations from the public, sorting donated items, and preparing merchandise for the sales floor. Tasks such as tagging and pricing donated items are essential to getting products ready for customers. You will follow specific store procedures for handling donations, pricing merchandise, and operating the register to ensure consistency and efficiency.
