Job Description

About the Role

Walmart is seeking Stockers, Backroom, and Receiving Associates to support store operations by ensuring the seamless flow of merchandise from delivery to the sales floor. This role is essential for maintaining an organized, well-stocked, and clean environment that enhances the shopping experience for customers.

Day in the Life

As a Stocker or Backroom Associate, you will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks, sorting merchandise, and organizing inventory in the backroom. You will stock shelves, rotate inventory to ensure freshness, build displays, and label products accurately. Using tools such as pallet jacks, carts, and inventory systems, you will move and track merchandise throughout the store to maintain inventory accuracy.

Overnight stockers focus specifically on stocking shelves and preparing the store for opening while it is closed, ensuring the sales floor is ready for the next day's customers. Throughout the shift, you will assist with truck unloads, set up promotional displays, and help keep both the backroom and sales floor organized and clean.

Career Growth and Benefits

Walmart offers opportunities for advancement into Team Lead or Department Manager roles. Full-time and part-time employees may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and employee discount programs. Additionally, associates can access tuition assistance through Walmart’s Live Better U program.

Depending on the shift and location, associates may also receive overnight shift differential pay, overtime pay, holiday pay, performance-based raises, overnight shift bonuses, and attendance incentives.
