During the course of their careers, special agents carry out assignments in both investigations and protection and may be assigned to multiple duty stations throughout the U.S. and abroad. Agents are part of an elite team dedicated to safeguarding the nation through:
Successful candidates must complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, followed by 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

Becoming a special agent requires a commitment to mobility and integrity. Agents must sign a mobility agreement stating their willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas. Additionally, all agents must obtain and retain a Top Secret Clearance throughout their career.
