We are seeking a Solution Architect to lead the design and modernization of complex Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS). In this long-term capacity, you will serve as the technical bridge between business stakeholders, state Medicaid agencies, and development teams. Your mission is to architect scalable, modular, and interoperable solutions that align with CMS guidelines, the MITA framework, and evolving state regulations.
This role is critical for driving transformation initiatives, moving legacy systems toward cloud-native microservices architectures while ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA and security standards. You will not only define the technical roadmap but also mentor teams on best practices, ensuring the delivery of robust eligibility, claims processing, provider management, and payment modules.
Your work will span the full spectrum of enterprise architecture. You will collaborate with program managers and vendors to translate complex business requirements into technical designs across application, data, and integration layers. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to reviewing technical designs, leading architecture governance, and ensuring seamless interoperability with federal and state systems (CMS, HHS) as well as third-party EHR/EMR platforms.
You will navigate a dynamic environment where you must balance modernization goals with the rigid compliance needs of the healthcare sector. Whether evaluating emerging technologies like AI or overseeing data migration initiatives, your focus remains on delivering systems that are secure, scalable, and capable of supporting critical healthcare services.
This is a remote position based in the United States. While the role is primarily remote, you must be willing to travel to client sites on an as-needed basis to support critical project phases or stakeholder meetings.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a structured evaluation process designed to assess both technical depth and cultural fit. The process typically includes:
