Do you want to change how the world creates? At Formlabs, we're building the tools that make it possible for anyone to bring their ideas to life, from cutting-edge products to life-saving medical devices. Our 3D printing technology powers innovation at more than 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. Together, we're helping everyone design, prototype, and manufacture faster than ever before.
We're a team of hands-on builders, engineers, and innovators reinventing how the world makes physical things. If you're ready to shape the future of fabrication, come build it with us.
This position is designed for those who want to bridge the gap between laboratory discovery and commercial reality. You will be the driving force behind developing world-class SLS materials, guiding them from initial lab explorations through validation and into full commercialization. Your work will push the boundaries of SLS material performance, turning scientific discoveries into next-generation solutions that empower our global community of makers.
In this role, you will partner closely with product, hardware, and software teams to iterate on material performance based on real-world customer feedback. You will develop rigorous methodologies to evaluate material formulations in coordination with SLS print systems, balancing complex factors like material chemistry, thermal dynamics, and printing parameters. It is a role for someone who loves to harness data, design experiments to optimize materials, and isn't afraid to test hundreds of times to get it right.
We value transparency and efficiency in our hiring process. While specific steps may vary, candidates can generally expect a series of conversations focused on technical depth, problem-solving approaches, and cultural fit. We encourage you to review the full job description and apply even if you don't check every box; we are looking for individuals who see themselves contributing to our mission.
We are committed to building an inclusive community that will change the face of 3D printing. We offer a robust equity program, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and generous paid parental and sabbatical leaves. Our culture thrives on flexibility, with a flexible out-of-office plan and ample on-site perks including healthy lunches, snacks, and unlimited 3D prints.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
