About the Role: Skills for Success Teacher

As a Skills for Success Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of your students by teaching content and skills defined in the District's Approved Curriculum. This position is designed to do more than deliver lessons; it aims to develop proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving while instilling a deep love and appreciation for independent learning.

In this role, you will utilize the Microburst credentialling platform to tailor daily instruction that meets the individual needs, interests, abilities, and developmental levels of your assigned students. Your day-to-day involves creating a safe, attractive, and learning-promoting physical environment while managing instructional materials and resources effectively. You will be responsible for communicating with parents and legal guardians regarding academic performance, establishing clear rules and consequences, and fostering positive student-to-student and student-to-teacher interactions.

Hiring and Application Process

Candidates for this position must hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and possess a valid South Carolina teaching certificate for the assigned courses and/or grade levels. Additionally, successful candidates will complete a 1-day district training for Microburst certification. While documented successful teaching experience is preferred, a strong proficiency in the use of technology is essential.

The position reports directly to the Principal. Performance will be evaluated annually by the principal to ensure alignment with district goals and student success metrics.

Terms of Employment

This is a full-time position with a contract of 190 days, contingent upon the full contract calendar. Salary will be determined by the salary schedule established by the Board of Trustees.
