The System Safety / Human System Integration (HSI) Department ensures our products' Safety and Human Factors disciplines are incorporated into all our engineering and program execution to provide our customers with critical needs. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineer to join our team in Aurora, CO.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex systems where safety is paramount. As a Senior System Safety Engineer, you will collaborate across integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. You will interface with various engineering functions, including Systems, Software, Electrical, and Hardware Engineering, to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design.
Your work will span the entire lifecycle of a program, from startup through production to demilitarization and disposal. You will be responsible for briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and managing System Safety Working Groups between key Raytheon and Customer representatives. This role may involve working on Special Access Programs, requiring a high level of discretion and focus.
This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Experience with DoD System Safety Programs such as MIL-STD-882 or DO-178. Experience with presentation skills. Experience solving complex problems by leveraging available resources and research material. Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development. Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integration showcasing execution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472. Experience with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, and System Safety Working Groups.
