We are seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in a hands-on position that spans a wide array of design challenges. This role is ideal for an innovator interested in leading, designing, and developing electrical systems for subsea applications. You will work across the full spectrum of electrical engineering topics, including AC and DC power systems, battery management, sensor integration, and electromechanical components like propulsion and actuators.
In this position, you will not only design but also build, test, and integrate the systems you create. You will lead design approaches, analyze operating data, and make critical design decisions based on test results. Your expertise will guide system-level decisions for interdisciplinary teams, ensuring that power and endurance budgets are maintained throughout development phases. While this role will start as remote or hybrid, it is ultimately based out of our new Bristol, RI facility.
Candidates selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation. As a condition of employment, applicants must be U.S. citizens and must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance. Prior DoD industry experience. Experience with designing and testing electronics in wet and subsea environments. Familiarity with Mil Standards, ruggedized equipment design, and environmental test requirements. Knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) design. Knowledge of design for EMI/EMC standards in military applications. Experience reading and creating schematics, wiring diagrams, and component data sheets. Experience derating components and designing for reliability.
