Saab Inc.'s Autonomous and Undersea Systems (AUS) division is a world-class team recognized for its technical accomplishments and vision in the maritime and defense sectors. Empowered by talented engineers, the group defines, architects, and delivers software solutions for autonomous Unmanned Surface/Underwater Vehicles (USVs/UUVs/AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). The team is dedicated to expanding the portfolio of unmanned maritime technologies and solving difficult problems that provide critical capabilities to customers.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the Saab AUS team, helping to evolve how unmanned systems are developed and operated. Unlike many software positions, this role offers a unique perspective where you will see how your efforts contribute to the entire lifecycle and success of a delivered system. You will work on technical teams defining, implementing, integrating, verifying, and maintaining software products, potentially witnessing the systems you build operated at sea.
You will partner with a team of engineers to design and implement software across Linux, Windows, and embedded platforms. Your work will involve applying software engineering fundamentals to create innovative solutions, supporting modeling and simulation activities, and presenting technical concepts and tradeoffs. You will participate in the full software product lifecycle, from development and prototyping to verification and support, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Applicants selected for this role will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
