Saab Inc.'s Autonomous and Undersea Systems (AUS) division is a world-class team recognized for its technical accomplishments and vision in the maritime and defense sectors. Empowered by talented engineers, the group pushes the boundaries of technology to create safer and more sustainable solutions for unmanned maritime systems. As a federal government contractor, the team is dedicated to helping nations keep their people and society safe by delivering advanced technology to the U.S. Armed Forces and international partners.
We are seeking an innovative Senior Software Engineer to join technical teams defining, architecting, and maintaining software for autonomous Unmanned Surface/Underwater Vehicles (USVs/UUVs/AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). This role is designed for a key contributor who wants to see their efforts impact the entire lifecycle of a delivered system. Unlike many software positions, you will gain tremendous experience with unmanned maritime systems and may even witness the systems you help build operated at sea.
You will solve difficult problems and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to expand our portfolio of products and capabilities. The day-to-day involves applying software engineering fundamentals to create innovative solutions, supporting modeling and simulation activities, and participating in technical reviews. You will have the opportunity to develop and present technical concepts, tradeoffs, and performance estimates while working within a business casual atmosphere that encourages work-life balance.
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance and must be a U.S. citizen to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. As a condition of employment, all candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen in adherence to federal government contractor policies for sustaining drug-free workplaces.
Saab values diversity as an asset and offers unlimited opportunities for advancing in your career. We are an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and an Affirmative Action employer for protected veterans and individuals with disabilities. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply and will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity, age, veteran status, disability status, or any other federal, state, or locally protected category.
