About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Android Software Engineer to join our dedicated team of ten Android engineers. Our team operates remotely and utilizes industry-standard tools to facilitate effective collaboration.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an individual who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Kotlin and a minimum of seven years of professional experience developing Android applications using the Android SDK.
- End-to-End Development: Demonstrated experience managing the complete application development lifecycle, from initial coding to deployment on Google Play.
- Architectural Knowledge: Preferred experience with Clean Architecture principles.
- Emerging Technologies: Preferred familiarity with AI agentic development.
- Community Engagement: A commitment to staying current with the latest patterns, libraries, and trends within the Android developer community.
- Testing Proficiency: Hands-on experience with both JUnit and instrumentation testing frameworks on Android.
- Design Patterns: Strong understanding of design patterns and the ability to identify their appropriate application within codebases.
- Concurrency & Networking: Solid experience implementing asynchronous patterns and managing network communication.
- Soft Skills: Excellent self-management capabilities, impeccable follow-through, and clear, concise communication skills.
- Mentorship: A genuine desire to mentor colleagues and promote excellence in software engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will make an impact by:
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, QA specialists, and fellow developers to guide mobile projects from conception to completion.
- Contributing to strategic decision-making processes by evaluating scope, complexity, and timing factors.
- Architecting code solutions that prioritize flexibility, modularity, and reusability.
- Mentoring team members through active knowledge sharing and conducting thorough code reviews.
- Ensuring application robustness by writing comprehensive tests, monitoring performance, reporting metrics, and troubleshooting bugs.
Compensation
The total compensation range for this full-time position in the United States is $164,000 - $220,000. This figure includes both salary and equity. The displayed range represents the approximate total target compensation across the U.S. Individual pay within this range is determined by factors such as relevant skills, experience, and education or training. Please note that this compensation figure does not include additional benefits.
