Saab Inc.'s Autonomous and Undersea Systems (AUS) division is a world-class team recognized for its technical accomplishments and vision in the maritime and defense sectors. Empowered by talented engineers, the group pushes the boundaries of technology to create safer and more sustainable solutions for the U.S. Armed Forces, the Federal Aviation Administration, and international partners. The AUS division focuses on defining, architecting, and delivering software products for autonomous Unmanned Surface/Underwater Vehicles (USVs/UUVs/AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the Saab AUS team, helping to expand our portfolio of products and capabilities while gaining tremendous experience with unmanned maritime software and systems. Unlike many software positions, this role offers a unique perspective: you will see how your efforts contribute to the entire lifecycle and success of a delivered system, from design to verification. In some cases, you may even witness the system operated at sea.
You will solve difficult problems and help deliver systems that provide critical capabilities to our customers. Working within a collaborative team, you will engage with the full software product lifecycle, including development, prototyping, integration, and support. This position is ideal for an innovative engineer who thrives in a business casual atmosphere that values professional growth, work-life balance, and a rewarding career beyond the office.
Applicants selected for this role will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen. The selection process evaluates technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Saab is a leading defense and security company with an enduring purpose to help nations keep their people and society safe. We see diversity as an asset and offer unlimited opportunities for advancing in your career. Saab respects each person's needs and encourages employees to lead a balanced, rewarding life. We are an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and an Affirmative Action employer for protected veterans and individuals with disabilities. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply and will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity, age, veteran status, disability status, or any other federal, state, or locally protected category.
