Key Responsibilities
- check_circleEngage with external partners on interoperability and roadmap alignment
- check_circleOwn the Java client and JDBC driver end-to-end including roadmap and API design
- check_circleDrive throughput and latency improvements across the client and server
- check_circlePartner with the Connectors team to fulfill driver requirements for Kafka and Spark
- check_circleWrite design docs, PR descriptions, and RFCs to shape technical investment
- check_circleEngage with community issues and external contributors in an open-source manner
Requirements
- verified5+ years software engineering experience with data-intensive systems
- verifiedDeep Java and JVM expertise including memory model, GC tuning, and profiling
- verifiedExperience building or extending libraries for other engineers
- verifiedStrong grasp of database fundamentals: SQL, query execution, and OLAP workloads
- verifiedSolid instincts on JVM concurrency: executors, reactive streams, backpressure, connection pooling
- verifiedExcellent written communication skills
- verifiedGenuine open-source disposition and comfort with public design discussions
