Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAct as Designated Responsible Individual in on-call rotation to lead incident response and resolution
- check_circleExecute and improve manual operations and deployments while designing automation to scale processes
- check_circleDevelop automation for monitoring, alerting, debugging, and deployment to reduce manual effort
- check_circleEnsure systems meet Microsoft's standards for security, privacy, and accessibility during onboarding
- check_circleConduct postmortems, share insights, and implement solutions to prevent incident recurrence
- check_circlePartner with engineering and product teams to align reliability goals with customer needs
- check_circleOperate production services to ensure high stability, performance SLAs, and user satisfaction
Requirements
- verifiedMaster's Degree in CS/IT AND 2+ years experience OR Bachelor's Degree in CS/IT AND 4+ years experience OR equivalent experience
- verifiedActive TS clearance and willingness/eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI with polygraph
- verifiedProficiency in C#, Go, Java, or Python
- verifiedExperience with large-scale cloud or distributed systems
- verifiedExperience with CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment, and reliability tooling
Nice to Have
Doctorate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration; OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration; OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration; OR equivalent experience. 3+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems. Demonstrated experience applying software engineering principles to production systems, including designing, building, or improving services and platforms. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, Go, Java, or Python, with the ability to develop and maintain production-quality code. Experience with automation that results in measurable improvements (e.g., reduced toil, fewer manual steps, improved system reliability). Experience with debugging and troubleshooting complex distributed systems in production environments. Ability to independently identify problems and implement solutions that improve system reliability and operational efficiency. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment, and reliability tooling.
