Under the direction of the Manager of Project Accounting, the Senior Project Accountant supports a specialized area focused on the financial management of rental properties. This role is critical for ensuring the accurate financial stewardship of Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties. You will work in concert with General Accounting and Financial Services team members to record income and expenses, manage rent collection, prepare financial reports, and lead project audits.

You will serve as a resource and mentor to finance team members, fostering a collaborative team environment where we work towards common strategic goals. Your day will involve meticulous recording of rental income and expenses, managing construction draws for new developments, and collaborating with operations teams to resolve tenant subledger issues. You will communicate with investors and external parties regarding project goals, prepare monthly intercompany billing, and lead HUD and LIHTC audits. Additionally, you will review legal documents to ensure adherence to agreements, manage balance sheets in compliance with GAAP, and generate financial reports that provide property owners with a clear picture of performance.
