Metis Technology Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced IT systems administrator to lead a team supporting the Aerospace, Research, Technology, and Simulation (ARTS) contract at NASA Ames Research Center. The NASA Ames Simulation Laboratories (SimLabs) are home to critical infrastructure including the Vertical Motion Simulator (VMS), featuring a 60 ft. vertical motion system with interchangeable cabs capable of simulating any aerospace vehicle, and Future Flight Central (FFC), an Air Traffic Control/Air Traffic Management (ATC/ATM) simulation facility dedicated to solving present and emerging capacity problems for the nation's airports.
The team administers multiple on-premise and cloud systems that support ongoing software development and air traffic management research projects, ensuring the IT infrastructure is fully compliant with security requirements and ready to support end-user needs across NASA Ames and the NASA/FAA North Texas Research Station (NTX).
This position serves as the hands-on lead for a small team of experienced systems administrators in a highly dynamic, multi-site environment. The role is critical for managing IT projects from planning through implementation, supervising day-to-day staff activities, and ensuring strict adherence to IT security plans and compliance standards. The successful candidate will work closely with NASA customers and support contractors to maintain a secure, robust environment for research and simulation operations.
This position is NOT eligible for remote work; all duties must be performed on-site at NASA Ames Research Center. Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements for a US Government Public Trust Clearance. Please note that no visa sponsorship is available for this position.
