About the Role
Peraton Labs is seeking a poly-cleared Senior Information System Security Officer to join a mission-critical, highly complex High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment enabling research across multiple security domains. In this role, you will own day-to-day security operations aligned to the Risk Management Framework (RMF), drive continuous monitoring, and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) posture. You will partner closely with subcontractor and customer personnel to ensure the security of our shared infrastructure.
This position requires full-time on-site work in Laurel, MD, or at a customer site near College Park, MD. You will act as the Senior ISSO supporting the system security lifecycle across development, operations, and modernization, translating complex security requirements into implementation guidance that engineering teams can operationalize. Your work will involve leading ATO efforts, mentoring junior ISSOs, and briefing senior internal and customer stakeholders on security posture and systemic risk trends.

Nice to Have
Experience securing or assessing containerized workflows (e.g., container runtime hardening, image governance, supply chain considerations). Experience with eMASS (or comparable GRC tooling), security control inheritance models, and assessor engagement. Familiarity with vulnerability tooling and security monitoring concepts. Experience with data protection requirements relevant to sensitive environments.
