Role Overview
Harrison Gray Search is partnering with a rapidly expanding insurance organization to recruit a Senior Claims Adjuster. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage complex liability claims, with a specific emphasis on asbestos, environmental, and other latent injury matters. Compensation and Location
- Base Salary Range: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
- Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
- Time Zone Preference: Eastern or Central Time Zone
- Geographic Preference: Candidates located in or near the Boston or Philadelphia areas are preferred to facilitate occasional scheduled travel for team meetings and company events.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Claims Adjuster will be responsible for managing high-exposure claims with a focus on technical expertise and strategic resolution. Duties include:
- Complex Claims Management: Handle intricate liability and latent injury claims, including asbestos, environmental issues, molestation cases, and toxic torts, ensuring strict adherence to procedural guidelines and authority levels.
- Legal and Technical Analysis: Apply deep legal and technical knowledge to assess liability, determine coverage applicability, and develop comprehensive case strategies.
- Case Strategy Execution: Lead the evaluation, settlement negotiations, and litigation management processes for assigned cases.
- Consultation and Leadership: Facilitate roundtable discussions and provide expert consultation on high-exposure claims to internal stakeholders.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor quality control metrics, establish and adjust claim reserves, and implement cost-containment measures.
- Litigation Coordination: Collaborate with both internal and external legal counsel on litigation matters, including budgeting and defense coordination.
- Process Improvement: Conduct periodic claim audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of claims processing workflows.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate a strong background in claims handling or legal practice, with the following specific qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in claims handling. Alternatively, licensed attorneys with transferable litigation experience in general liability, personal liability, toxic torts, asbestos, hazardous waste, or environmental law are encouraged to apply.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing complex, high-exposure claims.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced credentials such as a Juris Doctor (JD) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) are preferred.
- Licensing: Possession of state adjuster licenses is required, or the ability to obtain them promptly.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
