About the Role

We have an immediate need for a Senior Associate Civil Engineer to join our Mineola, Long Island Office. This role is pivotal in building our services and capabilities by leveraging our most valuable asset: our staff. As the lead civil engineer for local townships and villages on Long Island, you will serve as the primary engineering consultant for site plans, roadway improvements, drainage upgrades, traffic safety, and streetscape efforts.

In this capacity, you will act as the village or township engineer, leading the preparation of design plans, bid books, and specifications, while overseeing construction inspections and final project closeouts. Your day will involve attending planning board meetings, responding to RFPs, and leading civil engineering design staff and field inspectors on ongoing municipal projects. You will also serve as LiRo's representative to local building departments and departments of public work, ensuring conformance to Nassau County, Suffolk County, and NYSDOT standards.
