About the Role

Master-at-Arms (MA) Sailors form the backbone of the Navy's security, antiterrorism, and law enforcement capabilities. Their mission is to protect people, installations, ships, and strategic assets both at home and abroad. Whether stationed on bases, aboard aircraft carriers, or deployed in expeditionary environments, MAs serve as the first line of defense, conducting force protection, physical security, and policing operations.

This role is designed for those who thrive in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment where attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism are paramount. You will work in a dynamic setting that often involves rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage. The position demands the ability to remain calm and decisive during stressful situations involving emergencies, accidents, or criminal activity.

As you progress, you will take on increasing responsibility, qualifying for specialized billets such as patrol supervisor, watch commander, kennel master, or investigator. The career path offers continuous development through leadership courses, warfare qualifications, and senior enlisted leader programs, allowing you to specialize in areas like military working dogs, harbor security, corrections, or investigations.
