This position serves as a strategic leader dedicated to coordinating the implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program within the Dallas Independent School District. The primary mission is to support the psychological, academic, and social development of students across the PK-12 spectrum. By bridging the gap between district initiatives and campus-level execution, the role ensures that every student has access to the resources necessary for success in college, career, and military readiness.
The day-to-day rhythm involves acting as the central communication liaison between the Counseling Services department, campus leadership, and the broader community. You will facilitate school-wide counseling initiatives, coordinate vertical team meetings across feeder patterns, and lead professional development trainings for faculty. A significant portion of the role is dedicated to data-driven decision-making, utilizing PEIMS data and student records to monitor program effectiveness, identify intervention needs, and ensure compliance with state accountability standards.
We are committed to fostering a positive, caring climate built on trust, respect, and responsibility for students, parents, teachers, and staff. This role requires a professional who can effectively interact with diverse groups, from students and parents to district stakeholders, while promoting a growth mindset. We value individuals who can navigate complex systems, manage multiple projects with flexibility, and coach school staff in implementing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) approaches.
Candidates interested in this opportunity should submit their application through the district's official portal. Please note that no telephone calls regarding this position will be accepted. Selected individuals will be placed according to district compensation guidelines and may be required to wait until the end of the current semester to assume the new position, unless approved by the Chief Officer of Human Capital Management. All candidates must pass a security check and disclose family relationship information as part of the hiring protocol.
