About the Role
This position utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. You will evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Your duties include maintaining patient rights and ensuring the confidentiality of patient information, all performed in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
About the Unit
Unit 7B offers an immense selection of experiences through the management of complex diagnoses and patient needs, providing many learning opportunities. This environment provides a strong foundation in nursing and clinical skills. The unit serves the medical-surgical population by managing chronic and acute onset diseases. Patients served have multi-system management needs, including infectious disease, wound management, pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, diabetes, and gastro-intestinal conditions, as well as post-surgical patients. The team also coordinates management for patients needing surgical interventions, EGD, colonoscopy, outpatient infusion/chemo, and anti-coagulation therapies.
Schedule
This role operates on a 7p-7a shift with rotational weekends and holidays.
