As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by physicians. Your day-to-day involves monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, and conducting comprehensive patient assessments. You will interpret hemodynamic monitoring data and blood work results to guide clinical decisions. Beyond direct patient care, the role includes teaching and training patients and families, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and recovery processes.
To succeed in this role, candidates must hold a current Respiratory Therapy license from the appropriate state licensing body and possess a current Certified, Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) credential or a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification in compliance with the National Board for Respiratory Care Credential Maintenance Program. Additionally, current BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Education must meet the requirements for credentialing by the National Board for Respiratory Care. One year of experience is preferred.
