Job Description

About STERIS

At STERIS, we help our customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe. Our mission is critical to the medical community: when surgical instruments are sharpened and working properly, surgeons can focus on providing the best care for their patients.

About the Role

This is an entry-level Repair Technician position based primarily out of our repair lab in Seattle (Georgetown), with opportunities to float and assist on mobile repair trucks within the area as needed. When working on one of the repair trucks, the technician will need to commute to one of three locations—Auburn, Tacoma, or Puyallup—to meet colleagues at the truck in the morning.

As a Repair Technician Level I, you will perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation. You will work in various environments based on customer needs, including inside a repair lab, inside a hospital, or in the field on a mobile repair truck. This is a remote-based, customer-facing position where you will support and service customers within an assigned territory in Washington.

We do not require previous instrument repair experience to be considered. We provide extensive hands-on training and development, so you do not have to have prior experience to succeed in this role.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will handle the inspection and repair of surgical instruments using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, various hand and power tools, soldering, and other techniques. The complexity of repairs and level of intricacy will vary. Additionally, you will provide invoicing and documentation based on business needs and support various locations within your assigned territory depending on service agreements, customer needs, and staffing levels.

Our Benefits and Culture

We value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and financial future. STERIS offers a career progression path with growth opportunities in Instrument Management Services and other parts of the company. We provide competitive pay, overtime opportunities, annual merit reviews, and incentive plans. All necessary tools and uniforms are provided, and business travel expenses are paid.

Our benefits include medical, vision, prescription, dental, and life insurance, a 401(k) with a company match, paid time off that accrues from day one, paid holidays, and tuition assistance. We also offer opportunities for advancement and professional development.

Equal Opportunity Employer

STERIS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity and the use of affirmative action programs to ensure that persons are recruited, hired, trained, transferred, and promoted in all job groups regardless of race, color, religion, age, disability, national origin, citizenship status, military or veteran status, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, and any other category protected by federal, state, or local law.
