Las Palmas Medical Center is a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso, serving as a leading healthcare provider for the region. As part of Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare and HCA Healthcare, we are home to the region's only kidney transplant center and offer a comprehensive range of services, including a Level III trauma center, cardiac care, women's services, pediatric care, NICU, and cancer care.
HCA Healthcare has been recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times. We are committed to equipping nurses with the tools and resources they need to deliver exceptional patient care, championing the profession, and supporting the advancement of nursing's future. In recent years, HCA Healthcare spent an estimated $3.7 billion on charitable care, uninsured discounts, and other uncompensated expenses.
As a Registered Nurse in Surgical Ortho Trauma, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn. Whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives, you will help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
In this PRN role, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured patients. You will assess patient conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in status. Your day will involve performing procedures and monitoring as ordered by medical providers, administering medications, and ensuring thorough documentation in the patient's medical record. You will also provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipating needs. A key part of your role involves educating patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
