About the Role
This position serves as a vital component of our nursing team, operating under the direction of the Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing, and Assistant Director of Nursing. You will be continuously responsible for total patient care within your assigned unit or floor, performing all professional patient care functions while carrying out administrative responsibilities as delegated.
In this role, you will act as a charge nurse when applicable, managing unit operations, making fair assignments based on staff skills, and ensuring the smooth flow of patient care. Your day will involve assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering medications and treatments, and providing patient and family education. You will also collaborate with physicians, participate in discharge planning, and support the development of new staff members. This is a full-time night shift position featuring 12-hour shifts.
Qualifications & Culture
We seek a registered nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and is licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana. While prior experience is desirable, it is not essential. You should possess the ability to tolerate high levels of stress and treat fellow employees fairly and impartially. Current CPR certification is required, with ACLS and PALS preferred.
