To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values—integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion—must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.
The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on a nursing unit according to established policies. This role involves providing supervision to non-RN personnel and, when assuming the charge role, delegating and supervising unit activities. The position may require flexibility to work on other nursing units based on staff and patient distribution to maintain a high level of service.
We offer opportunities across several specialized critical care environments:
This fast-paced, high-acuity, 14-bed unit cares for adult patients with complex cardiac and medical diagnoses, including myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, unstable arrhythmias, and heart failure. Our team is trained in advanced heart failure management, including short- and long-term mechanical circulatory support (such as intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella catheters, and LVADs), as well as evaluation for advanced therapies and transplantation.
This 18-bed cardiac surgery unit specializes in care for complex post-operative patients, including CABG, valve replacements, aortic dissection repairs, heart transplants, and LVAD implantations. Notably, this is the only unit in the YNHH health system that cares for patients requiring ECMO (VV or VA bypass). Nurses are trained on devices like IABP, Impella/VADs, and CRRT based on experience and skill progression.
A 14-bed hybrid unit consisting of 8 ICU and 6 stepdown beds. The ICU focuses on patients post-complex vascular surgery (such as aortic repairs) and post-cardiac surgery (CABG and valve replacements). The stepdown beds care for patients with a variety of complex heart and vascular diagnoses.
YNHHS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, Affirmative Action, Disability, and Veteran employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
