Petco - Receiver/Stocker

Role Overview

Petco is seeking dedicated Stockers and Receivers to maintain the operational efficiency and visual appeal of our retail locations. This position is integral to ensuring that products are available for customers and that the store environment remains organized and safe. The role involves a combination of physical labor, inventory management, and customer-facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role include:

• Unloading and Receiving: Safely unload delivery trucks and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.

• Inventory Management: Organize and maintain stockrooms, ensuring items are stored correctly and accessible.

• Stocking Shelves: Replenish sales floor inventory promptly to ensure product availability for customers.

• Inventory Rotation: Implement first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices to maintain product freshness and quality.

• Display Creation: Build and maintain attractive product displays to enhance the shopping experience.

• Store Maintenance: Keep both storage areas and sales floors clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Overnight Stocking Focus

For positions designated as overnight stockers, the focus shifts to preparing the store for the upcoming business day while it is closed. Key tasks include:

• Replenishing inventory levels across all departments.

• Setting up promotional and standard displays.

• Ensuring the store is fully prepared for customer traffic the following morning.

Physical Requirements

This role is physically demanding and may require:

• Lifting and moving heavy boxes and pallets.

• Standing for extended periods.

• Navigating stockrooms and sales floors efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Structure

• Base Pay: The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $13 to $23 per hour.

• Overnight Differential: Overnight shifts may include an additional pay differential of $1 to $3 per hour, depending on the specific location.
