About the Role
The Radiology Technologist Extender serves as a vital support partner to Radiologic Technologists, ensuring a seamless and compassionate experience for patients and their families throughout the imaging process. Working under direct supervision, this position focuses on the foundational aspects of patient care, bridging the gap between administrative efficiency and clinical readiness.
Day in the Life
Your day begins by welcoming patients, families, and visitors, setting a tone of care and organization for the department. You will play a key role in patient preparation by conducting basic assessments, verifying orders, and guiding patients through necessary questionnaires. A significant portion of your time involves managing the flow of information and communication, including directing incoming calls, sending exam reminders to ensure patient preparedness, and accurately registering patient data in the Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Beyond patient interaction, you will maintain the operational integrity of the department by cleaning and restocking procedure rooms, ensuring every space is ready for efficient and safe patient care. This role is essential for maintaining a well-organized environment where technologists can focus on complex imaging tasks while you handle the critical support functions that keep the department running smoothly.
