The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale University School of Medicine invites applications for faculty appointments across Body Imaging, Cardiothoracic, and Emergency and Trauma specialties. The department has a legacy of excellence, having been at the forefront of providing attending-led, contemporaneous interpretations for over two decades. We set standards for quality care and innovation in the emergency and trauma fields while fostering a culture of collaboration with research projects.
Sessions for these roles are performed at Yale New Haven and at Bridgeport Hospitals. Bridgeport Hospital, an affiliate of Yale-New Haven Health, is located in vibrant Fairfield County, Connecticut, just outside the New York metropolitan area. The Cardiac Section within the Cardiothoracic Division is comprised of both Radiologists and Cardiologists who jointly offer all aspects of cardiac CT and MRI Imaging. The educational mission extends across all levels of learners for both radiology and cardiology trainees.
We are seeking board-eligible or board-certified radiologists to join our team as full-time faculty members. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements. These roles offer opportunities for professional development, leadership, and service development, with successes in these areas potentially leading to promotion to Associate and Full Professor.
Body Imaging & Cardiothoracic These positions require clinical proficiency in specific modalities such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopic studies. While no scholarly output is strictly expected for faculty on the Academic Clinician Track, a willingness to collaborate on research is encouraged. A commitment to teaching residents and fellows is a core requirement for these appointments.
Emergency and Trauma This section offers a flexible job structure designed to support work-life balance, allowing candidates to choose a mixture of night, evening, or weekend shifts that suit their lifestyle. While up to half the sessions may be focused on New Haven facilities, the remainder will be assigned to Bridgeport Hospital, which hosts an ACGME-accredited, four-year diagnostic radiology residency training program. This role provides unparalleled opportunities to contribute to a rich tradition of excellence while embracing the latest advancements in the field.
