About the Opportunity
The University of Louisville, in affiliation with Norton Children's Hospital, is seeking a Radiologist in Chief and Division Chief of Pediatric Radiology. This role provides strategic, clinical, operational, and academic leadership for a division serving Western Kentucky and parts of Southern Indiana. The position is dedicated to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered pediatric imaging services while fostering a culture of clinical excellence and innovation.
The Team and Environment
The UofL Pediatrics Department has experienced significant growth, expanding from 180 to over 400 full-time pediatric faculty since 2020. Norton Children's Hospital is home to the region's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center (300-bed) and operates a fully integrated academic clinical care model focused on translating research into state-of-the-art bedside care. The division is further supported by a 150+ acre state-of-the-art Pediatric Academic Center currently under construction, with completion expected in 2030.
Role Overview
As the leader of the division, you will oversee all clinical, operational, and academic activities within Norton Children's Radiology. You will collaborate closely with the Department Chair and hospital leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development. A key component of this role involves recruiting, mentoring, and developing a diverse and talented team of faculty and staff to foster professional growth and a collaborative environment.
You will also provide leadership for the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Success in this role requires active participation in multidisciplinary conferences and day-to-day patient management alongside pediatric and pediatric subspecialty physicians to ensure optimal, integrated care.
