The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) serves as a specialized care provider for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients within an inpatient-only setting. This position is dedicated to managing complex post-operative cases, primarily supporting patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and the CV Stepdown Unit. The role is designed to ensure optimal patient outcomes through close collaboration with Cardiothoracic (CVT) surgeons and the broader multidisciplinary team.
As a PRN (as needed) provider, you will deliver comprehensive care that includes performing patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and managing post-operative recovery. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and performing bedside procedures within your scope of practice. You will also play a key role in patient education and discharge planning while maintaining strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
This is a flexible, in-person role with no on-call responsibilities. Shifts are 12 hours long, primarily scheduled for daytime coverage during mid-week days and weekends. The position is structured to provide essential coverage when needed without the burden of after-hours call duties.
