About the Role

As a Principal System Safety Engineer, you will serve as a Safety Lead, acting as both a technical expert in missile safety and a project manager. You will be accountable for the establishment and execution of major safety programs, leading program safety teams and interfacing with program and functional leadership. This role requires the advanced application of MIL-STD 882E for System Safety across hardware, software, firmware, and personnel for DoD Missile systems.

You will work onsite in Aurora, CO, collaborating across integrated product teams to eliminate hazards and provide effective controls. Your day-to-day involves engaging in engineering review boards, managing safety-related interactions with suppliers, and shaping system safety postures across the entire lifecycle from design to disposal. You will mentor junior engineers and identify best practices to improve the overall safety culture at Raytheon.

Hiring Process & Application

This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance prior to your start date; U.S. citizenship is mandatory as only citizens are eligible for such clearances. The DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS) handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
