We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will significantly contribute to the development of custom software components and the integration of open-source code to address complex problems using cutting-edge Big Data and Cloud technology. You will be expected to work autonomously, identifying and solving problems quickly while advancing the broader strategic goals set by the Architects on the team.
The ideal candidate is a strong systems integrator with an eye for opportunities to enhance, optimize, or increase the robustness of an existing code base. You will design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software, guiding it from prototype to operational application. This position requires a solid foundation in Linux systems, hosts, networks, and security, alongside proficiency in shell scripting.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens. While a current U.S. Government Security clearance is not required at the start of employment, a Secret level clearance will be processed for the successful candidate. We also consider candidates who already hold a current Secret or TS level clearance.

Prior experience or familiarity with DISA's Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems (e.g., Cloudera's Distribution of Hadoop, Hortonworks Data Platform, MapR, etc.). Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab-CI, Travis-CI, Jenkins, etc.). Understanding of agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github, Gitlab, etc.). Experience with puppet, ansible, maven, virtualization (ovirt, proxmox, vmware, etc.).
Skills: Aws, Python, Go, Linux, Kubernetes, Ansible, Ceph, Rook, Longhorn, Shell Scripting.
Education: Bachelor's in related field with 9+ years experience; Master's in related field with 7 years experience (alternative); High School Diploma with 13 years experience (alternative).
