Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is an elite team of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting America. Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement culture where their aviation expertise directly supports national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for experienced pilots seeking a rewarding career that combines the thrill of flight with the stability and benefits of federal service. You will work alongside a dedicated team to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring suspect behavior patterns, analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. This is a full-time, security-based position offering exceptional job stability and the chance to make a tangible impact on border security.
The recruitment process for Air Interdiction Agents is streamlined but rigorous, designed to identify the most qualified candidates. There are three primary ways to apply: submit the applicant checklist and resume via email to a recruiter, apply through USAJOBS, or apply via Airline Apps. Highly recommended, candidates can also opt into CBP's talent repository to receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Successful applicants will undergo a three-part assessment. Upon completion, a duty location will be offered based on operational and mission requirements. Candidates must be willing to work at any location within their selected region, including the Southeast, Southwest, Caribbean Air and Marine Branch (CAMB), or National Air Security Operation Centers (NASOC) UAS locations.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Veterans' preference eligibility is recognized in accordance with federal statutes, and specific provisions exist for creditable law enforcement service regarding age requirements. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply and join our mission to protect the nation.
