We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate. We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.
At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters. Ochsner Health is an integrated healthcare system with more than 37,000 employees and over 4,700 employed and affiliated physicians in over 90 medical specialties and subspecialties. It operates 46 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Gulf South.
The Department of Ophthalmology includes 31 ophthalmologists and optometrists who provide care at our facilities located in the New Orleans, North Shore, River Parishes, and Baton Rouge regions. We offer a full range of services for the treatment of advanced eye disease and corrective surgery, providing comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients of all ages.
A premier regional leader in ophthalmic care and education, the department facilitates the training and development of future ophthalmologists, optometrists, and support staff by participation in Ophthalmology residency training, the Ochsner Optometry residency program, and the Delgado Ophthalmic Technician Program.
You will join a seasoned and busy team performing functional and cosmetic oculoplastic surgery. This position offers the opportunity to immediately contribute to a high-volume practice while shaping the next generation of eye care professionals through medical student and ophthalmology resident teaching responsibilities. Clinical research is encouraged to further the department's mission of innovation.
As a physician-led organization, we ensure our providers are given the tools and support needed to care for patients. Our integrated healthcare delivery model features multi-specialty collaboration, a large internal referral network, and innovative resources dedicated to improving patient care. You will work within the EPIC medical record platform, which enhances flexibility in patient management. We offer flexible schedules to ensure a healthy work-life balance and professional development opportunities in teaching, research, physician leadership, and community service.
