About the Role
Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team, providing comprehensive therapy services in a dynamic healthcare setting. Our ideal candidate will assist in the treatment of patients across our facility-based and home health environments, implementing care programs designed by Physical Therapists to improve patients' quality of life.
This role requires a compassionate approach and a commitment to delivering the highest quality of patient-centered care. You will work closely with Physical Therapists to develop treatment plans and implement therapy programs as directed, adjusting techniques as necessary to meet individual patient needs. A key part of your day involves documenting patient responses and progress in detailed reports, educating patients and families about treatment plans and maintenance exercises, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to enhance patient treatment and recovery.
In this position, you will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and ensuring treatment areas are functional and safe, as well as assisting with patient mobility and transportation within the treatment facility. Success in this role demands strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and the capability to handle the physical demands of moving or lifting patients safely.
