About the Role

This apprenticeship program gives you an entry point to a career in health care by guiding you in taking steps towards becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician. It helps you maintain the high level of skill required in the pharmacy care industry, arming you with a nationally recognized, portable credential that will help you advance your career.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAssist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision
- check_circleProcess prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs
- check_circleEnter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately
- check_circleEngage customers and patients to resolve issues and deliver a positive experience
- check_circleRegister sales on cash registers and handle cash transactions
- check_circleAssist in administering clinical services such as collecting blood or urine samples
- check_circleProcess and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services
- check_circleSupport inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments
- check_circleMaintain pharmacy department cleanliness and ensure adequate supply levels
Requirements
- verifiedMust be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- verifiedWillingness to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours
- verifiedPrefer six months of experience in a retail environment
- verifiedPrefer good math skills
- verifiedPrefer good computer skills
- verifiedPrefer knowledge of store inventory control
- verifiedPrefer PTCB certification
Nice to Have
Six months of experience in a retail environment. Prior work experience with Walgreens. Good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately. Good computer skills. Knowledge of store inventory control. PTCB certification.
