About the Role

As a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will be front and center, interacting with customers and developing strong patient relationships. The courses, learning activities, and resources provided in our pharmacy technician training program are designed to give you foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences you need to prepare to become a certified pharmacy technician.
Training & Development
Walgreens is proud to invest and champion an "earn while you learn" Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor. This apprenticeship program gives you an entry point to a career in health care by guiding you in taking steps towards becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician. The program arms you with a nationally recognized, portable credential that will help you advance your career while helping you maintain the high level of skill required in the pharmacy care industry.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAssist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision
- check_circleProcess prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs
- check_circleEnter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately
- check_circleEngage customers by greeting them and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience
- check_circleRegister sales on cash registers and handle cash transactions
- check_circleAssist in administering clinical services such as collecting blood or urine samples
- check_circleProcess and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services
- check_circleSupport inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments
- check_circleMaintain pharmacy department cleanliness and ensure adequate supply levels
Requirements
