About the Opportunity
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel PCU Stepdown RN to deliver high-quality patient care in progressive care and stepdown units across the United States. In this position, you will serve as a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, assessing, planning, and evaluating care for acutely ill patients. Your day will involve close collaboration with physicians and care teams to manage complex conditions, interpret telemetry, and educate patients and families on their treatment journeys. As a travel nurse, you will bring your expertise to various facilities, navigating different workflows and protocols with flexibility and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct nursing care to adult PCU/Stepdown patients requiring close monitoring
- check_circlePerform and document comprehensive assessments including cardiac and respiratory status
- check_circleAdminister and titrate IV medications and therapies according to provider orders
- check_circleManage and care for central lines, peripheral IVs, drains, and other invasive devices
- check_circleCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
- check_circleEducate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
- check_circleParticipate in rapid response and emergency interventions as needed
- check_circleMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- check_circleAdhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies and procedures
- check_circleMonitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry to recognize significant changes
Requirements
- verifiedActive, unrestricted RN license in applicable state(s) or compact RN license
- verifiedBLS (Basic Life Support) required
- verifiedACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
- verifiedPCU/Telemetry or Stepdown experience in acute care hospital setting
- verifiedNIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred or required by some facilities
- verifiedPCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse) certification preferred
Nice to Have
NIH Stroke Scale Certification (preferred or required by some facilities). Specialty certification such as PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse) – preferred.
